With 50+ respondents to date, it’s time to share the preliminary results of ForwardOsmosisTech’s FO market study.
We asked ForwardOsmosisTech’s readers: “What are your forward osmosis market development over the next 2-year period (until ultimo 2021)?”.
For each of the five chosen industrial segments, respondents were asked to provide a score according to the following ranking guide:
- (0 out of 100): By ultimo 2021, the use of forward osmosis technologies in the given industrial segment falls within basic research.
- (25 out of 100): By ultimo 2021, the use of forward osmosis technologies in the given industrial segment falls within lab-scale piloting.
- (50 out of 100): By ultimo 2021, the use of forward osmosis technologies in the given industrial segment falls within industrial piloting.
- (75 out of 100): By ultimo 2021, the use of forward osmosis technologies in the given industrial segment falls within first industrial-scale commercial installation.
- (100 out of 100): By ultimo 2021, the use of forward osmosis technologies in the given industrial segment falls within widespread commercialization.
In addition, we asked respondents to estimate the combined global forward osmosis market size by ultimo 2021.
The actual results
