Funding secured to further support commercialization of a new paradigm within concentration of liquid products
According to TechinAsia, Singapore-based forward osmosis specialist, Aromatec, recently completed a successful funding round led by Sunbo Partners – the Singapore subsidiary of Sunbo Angel Partners, and a undisclosed corporate strategic investor.
The funding will support Aromatec’s efforts towards further commercializing their high-performance hollow fiber FO technology for concentration of liquid products in wide range of industries including Food & Beverage, Flavour & Fragrance, and Pharmaceutical. As opposed to traditional volume reduction technologies, such as reverse osmosis and thermal evaporation, forward osmosis operates without applying heat & pressure, which helps preserve nutrients, flavors, and fragrances in the end product.
The membrane technology was developed over a 10-year period at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, by Professor Wang Rong, a world renowned expert on membrane science.
